Inês (b. 1996) is a professional graphic designer with a passion for visual expression both created by the human hand (illustration, art history, film) and in the natural realm (the patterns in nature, and particularly, entoptic phenomena*).
She keeps her chilhood googles alive while looking at the mundane, which reflects in her illustrations of everyday spaces and objects – like a bus stop, a gift shop, a restaurant or a plant in a garden – highlighting some of their details and unveiling some curious characters, through a vibrant and dream-like color palette that reminds us of the electric colors we would see when we closed our eyes in the dark, before going to sleep, as a kid.
Inês uses a variety of mediums, but mostly colored pencils, oil pastels and gouache.
* Visual effects whose source is within the human eye itself.
